QA Engineer

About the Role

We're a small, fast-moving team building software in the workers' compensation insurance space. Our platform integrates directly with insurance agents for quoting while also managing our internal business operations. We're looking for a QA Engineer to embed directly within our engineering team and help us ship quality software quickly and confidently.

This is a hands-on role where you'll work closely alongside Software Engineers in a Kanban-style workflow, testing new features, catching regressions, and contributing to a QA process that you'll have a real hand in shaping.

We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this role. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Manually testing new and existing features across our platform

  • Writing and maintaining automated tests using Playwright

  • Collaborating closely with Software Engineers throughout the development process

  • Writing stories and bugs to support the BA function on occasion

  • Contributing ideas to improve and evolve our QA process

How We Work

We're a small, tight-knit team that moves fast and stays lean. We don't follow a rigid Agile process. We operate in a Kanban style, prioritizing flow and focus over ceremony. If you thrive in an environment where you have real ownership and minimal bureaucracy, you'll fit right in.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience with manual testing of web applications

  • Experience with automated testing (Playwright preferred)

  • Comfortable writing stories and bug reports with enough detail to support development

  • Familiarity with the software development life cycle

  • Based in the United States

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and how QA fits within them

  • Experience working in a Kanban or lightweight workflow environment

Why Join Us

  • Work on a platform that directly shapes how our business operates

  • Be embedded in a small engineering team where your contributions are visible and valued

  • Have a genuine voice in shaping and improving the QA process

  • Flexibility that comes with a streamlined, low-process environment

  • Competitive salary ranging from $70,000 – $100,000 based on experience
